Senior Flex Developer (Or Sr. Web Dev / OOP who wants to learn Flex)

Global Wonder Entertainment, Inc., an award-winning Seattle-based animation company, is developing a next-generation online entertainment product. We are seeking an experienced and talented Flex Developer to lead the effort of expanding a prototype product to a public Beta product release.

This is someone with 5+ years of software development experience using web technologies such as Flex, C#, and PHP. 1.5+ years of Flex 2.0/3.0 development experience is required, along with a strong ActionScript 3.0 background. Solid Computer Science background is required, as is significant experience developing large, scalable web services.

This position is initially a contract position, with the intent of growing into a full-time position upon successful fund-raising for entertainment product.

Responsibilities:

- Bringing existing codebase to an alpha release state. - Integrate designer-centric Flash-authored UI into a code-centric Flex Builder 2.0-authored application. - Develop client-server communication services between the Flex client and a PHP server environment. - Develop and improve existing in-house ActionScript-based large multi-resolution scene display, scaling and panning technology. - Work with program managers to define and scope feature areas. - Work with designers to make their UI visions a reality. - Extend schema and architecture work to handle product vision. - Manage data and application deployments to the server and database environments. - Maintain and manage the prototype server and database systems. - Act as a resource to bring the existing team up to speed with Flex and other project-related technologies.

Qualifications and Experience:

- 1.5+ years professional experience with Adobe Flex 2.0. - Strong ActionScript 3.0 skillset. - Flash CS3 experience. - MySQL 5 experience. - PHP 5 experience. - Linux and Apache2 experience. - Rich Internet Application development experience. - Web and Flex-centric client-server communication experience. - Motivated and self-directed. - Experience with Virtual World or multi-user games a plus. - Experience with social network widget development a plus. - B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent.
